Haldi Ideas
Haldi Decoration Ideas for Home, Terrace and Outdoor Venues

Haldi is the brightest, most playful ceremony of the wedding. The decoration should feel sunny and joyful, photograph well in daylight and — importantly — be practical enough for turmeric, water and flower petals.
Marigold backdrops
A curtain of marigold strings is the classic haldi backdrop for good reason: it glows in daylight and frames the bride or groom beautifully. Mix yellow and orange marigold with white flowers or green leaves for depth.
Comfortable, washable seating
Choose a low sofa, a decorated chowki or a cushioned bench with covers that can handle a little turmeric. Place it slightly raised so family members can gather around for rituals and photographs.
Umbrellas and parasols
Embroidered umbrellas and hanging parasols add colour overhead and give welcome shade at outdoor ceremonies. They also make lovely frames for candid photographs.
Brass, urlis and flower petals
Brass urlis filled with flowers, matkas, lanterns and petal baskets add a traditional touch and are useful during the ceremony itself.
Haldi at home or on the terrace
Home haldi setups can be compact but still beautiful: a marigold backdrop on one wall, a seating area, a floral rangoli and a few hanging details. On terraces, plan for sun direction and wind.
Outdoor and poolside haldi
Lawns and poolside venues allow larger setups with umbrellas, swings and photo corners. Make sure structures are secure and the flooring is safe once the celebrations get wet.
A dedicated photo corner
A small yellow-themed photo booth with props keeps guests happy and away from crowding the main seat.
